SHHHHHHHHH! Mommy is trying to sleep

Or are you????

Are you the one who can go to sleep but you do not stay asleep or are you the one who can't get to sleep?

Here are two great products that I simply LOVE>

Sleep Assure by Natures Plus and Sleep Rescue by Bach.

The sleep assure is for those of you who can not sleep. It has passion flower, valerian root and chamomile for the herbs then melatonin, GABA and paradoxyl 5. That is a perfect mix of herbs and supplements. It works great without feeling groggy in the morning.

Next is the rescue sleep which is a botanical but it does not make you sleepy it actually turns your brain off for those of you who wake up and can't get back to sleep because you are thinking about everything and anything.

These two products can be used together and the rescue sleep can even be used during the day time for better focus so you don't day dream.

I've been using both of these for almost 5 years now and what a difference it has made in my life.

Check them out and get a good nights sleep for once.

R U on Cholesterol Meds???????

Me again,
Have you ever heard about Red Yeast Rice? Red Yeast Rice fights cholesterol like a statin. This product has been around for many years now and has been very successful in lower and maintaining good Cholesterol levels.

It has been sold in our store alone for at least 10 years and the results are super.

No aches and pains like you get from those prescriptions the doctors give you. We even have a few customers that their own doctors told them to try the Red Yeast Rice first before putting them on a prescription. Now that's what I'm excited about.

Red Yeast Rice is a yeast that forms on the rice that is harvested and put into capsules.

Here is information from the Chicago Tribune back in April 2002.

Ask the Pharmacist!
By Suzy Cohen, R.Ph.
Tribune Media Services

Q: I came across red yeast rice in the health food store where they were advertising it as a means of lowering cholesterol. What is the stuff and will it work like they say? c.c., Phoenix, Ariz

A: Red yeast rice is not a fancy vegetarian dish, and don't let the word "yeast" fool you into thinking it's some new type of bread, beer or infection. Red yeast rice, native to China, is a fermentation byproduct of cooked rice onto which red yeast has been grown. Until recently it was not known that red yeast rice helped to lower cholesterol.

The natural substances in red yeast rice are chemically related to statins, those popular pharmaceuticals you hear about every day such as Lipitor, Mevacor and Zocor. Like these drugs, red yeast rice works to lower cholesterol by reducing your body's production of it, rather than by attempting to squelch high levels of cholesterol after you've acquired the.

It's sort of like fighting weeds in your garden. It's a lot easier to prevent the growth of weeds than it is to pull them, one by one, after they've taken root.

In recent years, a number of studies have found that red yeast rice consumption can reduce cholesterol by as much as 30% and triglycerides by 19%. One such study, which was conducted at UCLA and it's findings published in the February 1999 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found that test subjects who received red yeast rice, after several months of treatment, had a significant reduction of triglycerides and LDL cholesterol. Researchers observed mild side effects such as heartburn, gas and dizziness, but no changes in liver function.

This is a big deal because synthetic drugs sometimes can damage the liver. A similar study in China showed an even greater reduction of blood cholesterol among people taking the supplement for about two months. This information was presented at the American Heart Association's 39th annual conference back in 1999. So red yeast rice could be worth all that advertising hoopla after all.

Don't, however, substitute or combine red yeast rice with other cholesterol busters unless supervise3d by your physician. And be aware that red yeast physician. And be aware that red yeast rice may cause your stool to redden. Fortunately, the effect is temporary and harmless.

If you are unwilling or unable to tolerate traditional medicine, it's just another option.

Cold and Flu Season is on it's Way....Let's be ready

Okay, so every year around this time you say you either get a cold, get bronchitis or pneumonia. Well there are a few quick tricks you can do to dodge these yucky illnesses or at least keep them at a much less issue. Here's how!

BROMELAIN! BROMELAIN! BROMELAIN!

Bromelain is a pineapple enzyme and taken with food will help with digestion, but what most people do not know is that TAKEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH WILL EAT MUCUS. And you know what that means? Yep, it goes in there and clears up your chest so you don't get the nasty croupy cough which leads to bronchitis and pneumonia.

My personal experience with bromelain has helped me stay on my feet when usually in November or December I come down with a really bad cold. Here's what I do.

First thing in the morning I take 6 of a 2400GDU strength bromelain and try to take several throughout the day and then again another 6 before bed. The more you can get in the better.

Usually in a day or two you will feel a million times better.

Bromelain is also great for those little pesky rubber bands stuck in your throat. Just by taking a few before bed then upon arising and you are usually good to go for the day.

Give it a try and see what happens. It might save your life or at least save on hospital bills.

Take care

Pass the SPLENDA Please: NOT!

I just gotta tell you that you are doing more harm then good putting your splenda in your coffee or tea instead of real sugar.

Here is the link to find out the real story.

http://www.wnho.net/splenda_chlorocarbon.htm

If you don't want to do raw sugar you can try: Stevia, Agava nectar, Xylitol, Fructose and a handful of others that are low on the glycemic index.

shoot me a message and I'll get you more info if you need. Meanwhile here is the full article for your convenience.

THE LETHAL SCIENCE OF SPLENDA,
A POISONOUS CHLOROCARBON
By James Bowen, M.D.

Posted: 08 May 2005

James Bowen, M.D., A physician, biochemist, and survivor of aspartame poisoning warns about yet another synthetic sweetener, Splenda.

Hawaii, May 8, 2005 -- The chemical sucralose, marketed as "Splenda", has replaced aspartame as the #1 artificial sweetener in foods and beverages. Aspartame has been forced out by increasing public awareness that it is both a neurotoxin and an underlying cause of chronic illness worldwide. Dr. James Bowen, Researcher and biochemist, reports:

"Splenda/sucralose is simply chlorinated sugar; a chlorocarbon. Common chlorocarbons include carbon tetrachloride, trichlorethelene and methylene chloride, all deadly. Chlorine is nature's Doberman attack dog, a highly excitable, ferocious atomic element employed as a biocide in bleach, disinfectants, insecticide, WWI poison gas and hydrochloric acid.

"Sucralose is a molecule of sugar chemically manipulated to surrender three hydroxyl groups (hydrogen + oxygen) and replace them with three chlorine atoms. Natural sugar is a hydrocarbon built around 12 carbon atoms. When turned into Splenda it becomes a chlorocarbon, in the family of Chlorodane, Lindane and DDT.

"It is logical to ask why table salt, which also contains chlorine, is safe while Splenda/sucralose is toxic? Because salt isn't a chlorocarbon. When molecular chemistry binds sodium to chlorine to make salt carbon isn't included. Sucralose and salt are as different as oil and water.

"Unlike sodium chloride, chlorocarbons are never nutritionally compatible with our metabolic processes and are wholly incompatible with normal human metabolic functioning. When chlorine is chemically reacted into carbon-structured organic compounds to make chlorocarbons, the carbon and chlorine atoms bind to each other by mutually sharing electrons in their outer shells. This arrangement adversely affects human metabolism because our mitochondrial and cellular enzyme systems are designed to completely utilize organic molecules containing carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and other compatible nutritional elements.

"By this process chlorocarbons such as sucralose deliver chlorine directly into our cells through normal metabolization. This makes them effective insecticides and preservatives. Preservatives must kill anything alive to prevent bacterial decomposition."

Dr. Bowen believes ingested chlorocarbon damage continues with the formation of other toxins: "Any chlorocarbons not directly excreted from the body intact can cause immense damage to the processes of human metabolism and, eventually, our internal organs. The liver is a detoxification organ which deals with ingested poisons. Chlorocarbons damage the hepatocytes, the liver's metabolic cells, and destroy them.

In test animals Splenda produced swollen livers, as do all chlorocarbon poisons, and also calcified the kidneys of test animals in toxicity studies. The brain and nervous system are highly subject to metabolic toxicities and solvency damages by these chemicals. Their high solvency attacks the human nervous system and many other body systems including genetics and the immune function. Thus, chlorocarbon poisoning can cause cancer, birth defects, and immune system destruction. These are well known effects of Dioxin and PCBs which are known deadly chlorocarbons."

Dr. Bowen continues: "Just like aspartame, which achieved marketplace approval by the Food and Drug Administration when animal studies clearly demonstrated its toxicity, sucralose also failed in clinical trials with animals. Aspartame created brain tumors in rats. Sucralose has been found to shrink thymus glands (the biological seat of immunity) and produce liver inflammation in rats and mice.

"In the coming months we can expect to see a river of media hype expounding the virtues of Splenda/sucralose. We should not be fooled again into accepting the safety of a toxic chemical on the blessing of the FDA and saturation advertising. In terms of potential long-term human toxicity we should regard sucralose with its chemical cousin DDT, the insecticide now outlawed because of its horrendous long term toxicities at even minute trace levels in human, avian, and mammalian tissues.

"Synthetic chemical sweeteners are generally unsafe for human consumption. This toxin was given the chemical name "sucralose" which is a play on the technical name of natural sugar, sucrose. One is not the other. One is food, the other is toxic; don't be deceived."

Dr. Bowen also calls attention to another seldom recognized and deadly permanent effect of these chemicals: "Aspartame, sold as NutraSweet, Equal, E951, Canderel, Benevia and under other names, is a hypersensitization agent which causes Polychemical Sensitivity syndrome. Chlorocarbons strongly induce uncurable hypersensitivity diseases which are now becoming rampant." (James Bowen, M.D.)

Doctor Bowen has spent 20 years researching artificial sweeteners after his use of aspartame resulted in being diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. Dr Bowen's intention is to warn the world of the toxicity of tabletop poisons like aspartame, Splenda and Neotame.

Russell Blaylock, M.D., has published Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills on the subject, http://www.russellblaylockmd.com

Note by Dr. Betty Martini:

Dr. Betty Martini says "the controversy rages over Splenda (sucralose). Is it safe and natural like sugar or is it a chlorinated hydrocarbon? As lawsuits fly, consider the chemistry of this artificial compound."

She adds: "The FDA denied approval of aspartame for 16 years, then caved in to political/economic pressure when Don Rumsfeld, CEO of the manufacturer, was brought to Washington by Ronald Reagan. A new FDA Commissioner was appointed to approve it then became a consultant for NutraSweet's public relations firm for $1,000/day on a 10 year contract. Forthcoming has been a global epidemic of disability and death. One might expect FDA to be more cautious next time, yet FDA approved the toxic chlorocarbon Splenda without hesitation and without any long term testing on human subjects."

Black Friday!

You know I hate shopping, I've only done Black Friday once and I think for myself that is enough for a life time.

So instead I am heading back to the G.O. Ministries and grabbing those turkey bones to make a butt load of soup.

I think they have about 10 turkey carcasses that they were going to throw away because now one reuses the bones. I for one love any ones left over bones.

Last New Years my sister and brother in-law had us over for prime rib and was going to throw the bones away. I grabbed them in a heart beat and took them home.

Placed the bones in a roaster with a little water and basted them on 200 for about 6 hours in the oven then plopped them into a stock pot and put the roaster on top of the stove to get the residuals out of the pan.

placed the drippings from the roaster and the stock that it made into the pot and let it simmer for a few more hours until all the meat falls off.

Once it was done the meat filled up the pot half way. I would have never thought that much meat would have come from those bones but it made the richest prime rib soup I have ever eaten.

So BRING ON THE BONES! don't dump them, get creative, most times it's better than the original meal. and way better for you too since there is usually not much fat left over.

Bon Appetite til we meet again

Serving at the Mission

Wow! what a great time we had at the GO Ministries in Ashtabula. We met a lot of fun people and had a wonderful time feeding those less fotunate. There were people from other churches as just some families willing to help. Last year they served over 300 but not sure how many this year. fortunately it was nice out so I think the numbers might have been down because of it.

I was thinking there would have been more because of the economy but I'll find out this week when I go back this week.

It was so nice meeting new people and helping them out. There was an elderly couple there. I helped them with seconds and then another take out container loaded up with ham and turkey. It looked like they were planning on having all that last for at least a week so I did them up good. They walked out with 3 take out containers, 2 loaves of bread and a container of pie.

I wish I could have taken them home with me. They were in their 80's at least and she was with a walker. The world is so twisted it hurts sometimes. How can I even complain about what I suffer each day or even each week. It's nothing compared to reality.

I have My GOD, my family and friends and I pray they have God to hold onto. I don't know what I would do with out him. My life would be so different now and probably not worth much.

I am grateful to him for giving me the desire to share and care. As much as regular people irritate me, those in need are on the top of the chain. I can stop in a heart beat when I see someone hurting or in need.

It seems those who actually have something whine way too much and it just pisses me off. I am ashamed to say that I am that person every time and again and look back on how Christ died for those who have nothing. he's there for us too but we need to reach out to those who are less fortunate then us. And that is anyone. Even if you are set for life. You need to reach to those on the level just below you,. what a difference we would make if we all just checked around us and actually looked beyond our own feet.

Lord bless this land and those that follow that we can be your hands and your feet to reach the REST of your kingdom>

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
